Anti-India slogans in Jammu and Kashmir on Eid; Zakir Musa, Masood Azhar posters seen outside masjid

Srinagar, June 5 : As nation celebrates Eid, clashes broke out post Eid prayers in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir with protesters shouting anti-India slogans in Anantnag and Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir .

Posters of slain terrorist Zakir Musa, chief of the Kashmir unit of the al-Qaeda, who was recently killed in an encounter were seen with slogans such as “Musa Army” written on them.

Violence was reported in Srinagar, sopore and Anantnag while posters supporting terrorist Zakir Musa and UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar were also seen in the area.

According to police officials, immediately after the Eid prayers ended at the historic Jamia Masjid, youths assembled outside the mosque started pelting stones on security forces on duty. The security forces used tear gas shells to disperse the protesters.

 

Police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the crowd. Protesters are seen carrying posters of Islamic State Jammu Kashmir, Musa Army, Maulana Masood Azhar. Protestors shouting anti-India slogans took to streets displaying placards of separatist organisations. Stones were pelted at security forces near Jamia Masjid in Srinagar; and posters supporting terrorist Zakir Musa and UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar were also seen in the area.Tension continues in other parts of the valley.
