Article 370 scrapped : PDP MP tears Constitution

New Delhi, Aug 5 : The Copy of the Indian Constitution was torn in Rajya Sabha  by PDP MP Mir Mohammad Fayaz, as a mark of protest against the Modi government’s decision of scrapping the Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu directed him to leave the House after this incident.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said “I strongly condemn the act of 2-3 MPs(PDP’s Mir Fayaz and Nazir Ahmed Laway who attempted to tear constitution). We stand by the constitution of India. Hum Hindustan ke samvidhaan ki raksha ke liye jaan ki baazi laga denge, but today BJP has murdered constitution.”

The Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu even asked the Marshals to take them out of the Rajya Sabha. The upper house is underway where the opposition is raising slogans in the Rajya Sabha.

PDP’s Rajya Sabha MPs Nazir Ahmad Laway and MM Fayaz staged protest in Parliament premises after resolution revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir moved by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha.

Also, PDP MP MM Fayaz tore his kurta while staging a protest.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti on Monday described the Modi government’s decision to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution as “the darkest day in Indian democracy”.
