Bomb Blast outside Data Darbar Sufi shrine in Lahore: Six killed, several injured

Lahore (Pakistan), May 8 : At least six people have been killed in a powerful bomb blast outside Data Darbar, a famous Sufi shrine in Pakistan’s Lahore as the country marks the fasting month of Ramzan.

DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Ahmad Khan confirmed three police officials died in the blast. A security guard and a civilian were also among the dead.

At least 24 people were being treated for injuries, some of whom were in critical condition, he added.
The blast took place around 8:45am outside Gate number 2, where the police personnel were deployed for security,” DIG Ashfaq said.

Data Darbar is one of the oldest and largest shrines in South Asia.The attack comes as the country marks the Islamic holy month of Ramadan .Hundreds of pilgrims were inside the shrine when the blast took place.
