Unnao (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 4 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting raids at more than 15 places including MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s residence in Unnao in connection with the accident of Unnao rape victim’s car. Sengar, an influential politician, is the accused in the rape case of a teenage girl.
Recently Sengar has been expelled by the Bharatiya Janta party after much outrage from the opposition parties that why the ruling Saffron party is not taking action against him.
The girl alleged that she was raped by the lawmaker from Bangermau at his residence in Unnao on June 4, 2017 where she had gone to seek a job.
The CBI booked Sengar for murder in the accident case. The UP Police filed a case against Sengar and nine others in the case.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting searches at some locations in Lucknow, Unnao, Banda and Fatehpur. Investigation is continuing. The development comes after central investigative agency’s interrogated the expelled Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the accused in the rape case of a teenage girl, at a jail in Uttar Pradesh.Sengar is likely to be grilled again on Sunday.
CBI on July 31 filed an FIR against 10 people, including Sengar, charging them with murder for the road accident in Raebareli which left the Unnao girl, who had accused Sengar of rape in 2017, in a critical condition.
On July 28, the car carrying Unnao rape victim, her relatives and lawyer was hit by an over-speeding truck. Two of the victim’s aunts died in the accident while she and her lawyer were critically injured.
The hospital has released the medical bulletin of the Unnao rape victim, saying she is currently fighting a battle for her life at the King George’s Medical University hospital, where she has been admitted. She is currently on life support with a ventilator and developed pneumonia, the hospital said.
