Indian Supreme Court dismisses plea to carve Parliamentary Constituencies from PoK, Gilgit Baltistan

 New Delhi (India), July 1 :The Supreme Court of India today dismissed a petition that parliamentary constituencies be formed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan.

A Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices  Deepak Gupta and Aniruddha Bose dismissed the plea, stating that it is “ex facie untenable” and imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000.

The plea was moved by former RAW officer.The petitioner had cited the fact there are twenty-four assembly constituencies already in existence in PoK and Gilgit Baltistan.
