Tehran, Oct 21 : Iran has announced that the country’s nuclear industry has been entirely indigenised and the Islamic Republic has become self-sufficient in designing and manufacturing different types of centrifuge machines.

A high-ranking official at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says the country’s nuclear activities have been entirely indigenized and the Islamic Republic has become self-sufficient in designing and manufacturing different types of centrifuge machines.

“One-hundred percent of Iran’s nuclear industry activities have been indigenized and today, we are self-sufficient in designing and manufacturing various kinds of centrifuges,” Ali Asghar Zare’an said, special assistant to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) head, Ali Akbar Salehi.

The remarks were made in an address to the opening ceremony of an exhibition of Iran’s nuclear industry achievements in the city of Kerman on Sunday and was quoted as saying by Press TV.

Zare’an said, “Once others were not willing to give us a single centrifuge or see a centrifuge spinning, but now, thousands of centrifuges are running at (Iranian) Natanz and Fordow (nuclear) facilities.”

Iran is now producing the raw material of yellowcake domestically and this move has greatly increased “the bargaining power at the international level,” he added.

His remarks come almost after 2 weeks after the AEOI head Ali Akbar Salehi said on October 7 that the nuclear experts had been working on the second part of the Arak reactor for the past 4 years.
