New Delhi, Nov 24: To counter undemocratic moves of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party BJP, Congress veterans and senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi are expected to appear for the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress trio in the Supreme Court for the hearing, which is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am seeking a floor test of the newly-formed Maharashtra government within 24 hours in order to avoid “illegal manoeuvres” in Maharashtra.

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in as Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the second consecutive term and NCP’s Ajit Pawar as his deputy on Saturday. The oath ceremony was administered by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at the Raj Bhawan.

Ajit Pawar extended support to Fadnavis government in his own capacity and NCP top boss Sharad Pawar said said that it is Ajit Pawar’s unilateral decision. In a joint press conference of Shiv-Congress-NCP on Saturday afternoon, the NCP chief said his nephew Ajit was removed as the head of party’s Legislature Party.

NCP chief said that Ajit took a list of all NCP MLAs who extended their support to NCP-Congress and Shiv Sena and presented it as a“letter of support” to show support for BJP. Sharad Pawar also paraded his MLAs in the press conference who told the media that Ajit Pawar misled them into attending the swearing-in ceremony of Fadnavis.
