Modi gets nervous after Dalit vote bank threatens BJP

Aware of the hard fact that only the main national party viz Congress has the potential to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party,Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his coterie chooses to blame Congress party for NDA’s failures and the problems being faced in India.

When Prime Minister discovered that his Dalit vote bank has taken a dent after the violent protests by Dalit organisations protesting against diluting certain provisions of the SC\ST (Prevention of atrocities)Act and squarely blamed the Modi government for the high rate of atrocities on the community and the abysmally low rate of conviction by the present government, PM Modi was quick to blame the  Opposition parties led by Congress for the chaos during an interaction with party leaders on BJP’s 38th foundation day.

Aware of the hard fact that only the main national party viz Congress has the potential to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party,Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his coterie chooses to blame Congress party for NDA’s failures and the problems being faced in India.

While Modi is demoralised when he states that the Congress-led opposition’s agenda was “remove Modi, snatch his chair”,BJP chief Amit Shah has resorted to a sort of abusive language against the Opposition ,saying “Ye jo Modi ji ki baadh ayi hai na baadh, iske dar se saap, nevale, kutti, kutte, billi sab ikattha hokar chunaav ladne ka kaam kar rahe hai (It’s the fear of Modi ji’s oncoming flood that is causing snakes, mongooses, bitches, dogs and cats to join forces and fight the elections).”

This suggests that BJP fortunes in the coming elections are under a free fall and Shah’s abusive language indicates their fear of losing elections.

Violent protests by Dalits that swept north India officially left at least 11 people dead during a ‘Bharat bandh’that rocked the country.Realizing that scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes support is imperative and crucial for the Bharatiya Janata Party to win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP MPs to reach out to or spend a night in villages where 50% or more of the population belonged to these communities.

During BJP led NDA’s rule, people of India have only listened to political statements of PM Narendra Modi , ministers and the BJP leaders.

In order to take political mileage , Modi invoked his background, saying, his rivals are unable to digest that a person belonging to Other Backward Class has occupied the chair of Prime Ministership.

There is disappointment among the Dalits and other backward classes as BJP had promised them that OBCs and Dalits will form an important part of a social system that also includes the upper castes to group them under Hindu identity.

No doubt, Narendra Modi is a cunning politician as he installed Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, who is from Andhra Pradesh as Vice-President and Ram Nath Kovind, a Dalit from UP as the president to benefit the BJP’s electoral fortunes during the elections.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of betraying the people of the state by denying it the special status that was promised during the bifurcation in 2014.PM Modi intentionally chose not to grant special status to Andhra Pradesh through TDP. Telugu Desam Party, rather wants to convey to the voters that they should vote for BJP directly to get this benefit.

Taking his outreach to Dalit communities further, Modi said the party would observe the birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule, a social reformer from a backward caste, on April 11 as Samta Divas (equality day) and the birth anniversary of Dalit icon B.R. Ambedkar on April 14 by organisingg several events.

However, numerous incidents where Dalits were lynched by cow vigilantes, suicide of Rohith Vemula,Dalits attacked in Saharapur and attacks on Dalits at the Bhima-Koregaon commemoration in January have fuelled anger among the community.

Having seen Ramdas Athawale of the RPI and Ram Vilas Paswan of the LJP who have been playing politics of convenience,Dalits are now mobilised by new generation leaders such as Jignesh Mevani.

A case has been registered against Dalit leader and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mewani for allegedly making incendiary remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event in Chitradurga, Karnataka about 200 kms from Bengaluru.Cases were registered under IPC sections 153, 188 117 and 34, police said.

Modi’s refusal to hold even a single press conference is incomprehensible but when he sees that his vote share is shrinking,he takes resort to various methods to accuse the Congress party of doing politics.

If Congress has ruled the maximum years in India due to the role played by it and sacrifices during the Independence period and members of Gandhi family who laid down their lives for the country,Modi has been playing on the emotive nerves of the voters to win mandate and raising non issues such as Sonia Gandhi’s foreign origin, Gandhi dynasty and also defaming the previous Congress governmentsof not doing anything for the country.

In 2014 Modi and his team accused UPA of corruption and not securing the borders of the country and now in 2018 and 2019 Modi ,Amit Shah and BJP is accusing the Congress of not allowing the Modi government to work inspite of the fact that BJP has the mandate, authority to rule the country as per their desires.

Modi and his team has failed to address the real issues of high petrol prices, inflation, crime rate, national security.
Moreover ,Modi is reluctant to release the Labour Bureau statistics, that states”India has become the nation of the most unemployed in the world ; in the inclusive growth index , we are far behind our neighbours.”

Modi has been asserting that it is the BJP that has honoured Dalit icon B.R. Ambedkar but failed to realize their failure to address the atrocities done on them.
