Pakistan’s illegal occupation of part of Indian State of J&K needs to be addressed, says India

India at the United Nations in Geneva has accused Pakistan of misusing the council for its ritual of raking up malicious propaganda against India, which infact is giving continued support to cross border terrorism to disturb peace and committing human right violations in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition to that, Islamabad has illegally occupied parts of Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and people in PoK are suffering because of systematic Army persecution and denial of basic rights.

Mini Kumam, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India to UN during 40th Session of UNHRC in Geneva specifically pointed out that UN council need to solve Pakistan’s illegal occupation of part of Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir, said, “Matters that need to be addressed are Pakistan’s illegal occupation of part of Indian State of J&K & suffering of PoK people.​ J&K is integral part of India. Pakistan wrecked UN resolutions by violating its obligations to vacate territories under its control.”

 “Pakistan’s continued support to cross border terrorism is the main challenge to protecting the human rights of our citizens in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir,”She said.

“We deeply regret Pakistan’s misuse of Council for its ritual of raking up malicious propaganda against India,” She said.

Kumam said, “Pakistan is known to international community for its acts of aggression,harbouring safe havens for terrorists,military court trying civilians,harassment of minorities through blasphemy law,forced conversions and marriages of minorities.”

“In Sindh, Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mass cases of enforced disappearances in north western Pak,state-sponsored extreme prejudices,religious intolerance & attacks on Muslim minorities, such as Shias, Ahmadiyas and Hazaras, she said.

Kumam exposed Pakistan the UNHRC session, activists from Pakistan and PoK staged a protest outside the venue against Islamabad.
