New Delhi, July 20: Congress President Rahul Gandhi made an all out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of betraying  Indian soldiers by agreeing to follow “Chinese agenda”  at the Wuhan summit .

Rahul said, “After Prime Minister Modi rendezvoused with Chinese President Xi Jinping next to a river in Gujarat, Chinese soldiers entered India and when Xi returned to his country , a few days later PLA troops were in Doklam.”

” Our soldiers defended the country in Doklam but their bravery was betrayed and cheated  by PM Modi as After a few days, PM went to China for Wuhan summit for an agenda-less meeting. The truth is he went there with China’s agenda and  said Doklam will not be discussed. What our soldiers did by facing the Chinese, the PM could not do it… He (PM Modi) cheated our soldiers,” Gandhi asserted.

He added that while Indian soldiers held the fort against the Chinese soldiers PM Modi let them down by not raising the issue with the Chinese side.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an informal summit with President Xi Jinping in Wuhan.

“Youth in India trusted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his every speech, he (PM) said he will give jobs to two crore youth but only four lakh people have got jobs, rest are still unemployed,” Gandhi said. He compared the status of employment with China which gives jobs to 50,000 people in 24 hours.

Gandhi said Narendra Modi is colluding with rich businessmen and offering them big contracts and questioned “why a contract of Rafale deal was taken from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and given to a businessman who has never built a plane in his life.

“There are a few rich businessmen who are in collusion with PM Modi and PM works only for them. The Prime Minister has not been truthful. He must explain why a contract was taken from HAL and given to a businessman who has never in his life built a plane. I know the PM can’t look into my eyes,”Rahul said .

“A businessman who has not built a single airplane in his life and has a debt of Rs 35, 000 crore was given the Rafale deal because of his relationship with PM,” alleged Gandhi as BJP leaders rose up in protest.

Gandhi accused Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharam of lying to the people of the country  on the behest of the PM Narendra Modi on Rafale deal.

“I don’t know what happened, or who he spoke to, but the PM Modi went to France and magically made the price of a helicopter Rs 16,000 crore. The Defence Minister said she will announce the deal, but later said details cannot be divulged as India has a secrecy pact with the French government,” Rahul said.

Gandhi accused Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of lying to the nation by reneging on her assurance that she will reveal the details of the Rafale fighter jet deal, citing a secrecy pact between India and France.

“I met the French President Emmanuel Macron and he told me that there was no secrecy pact between the two countries,” said Gandhi amid an uproar in the lower house.

Gandhi claimed that the deal for the fighter aircraft was fixed at Rs 52 crore during the UPA regime which “magically” escalated to Rs 1,650 crore in the current regime.

In a dramatic speech in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi also slammed the PM for appearing in the advertisement of Reliance Jio.

Gandhi said that Modi “works only for the few rich businessmen, who are in collusion with him, and not for the country’s poor”.

“Everybody understands and sees the amount of money which goes into the marketing of the Prime Minister of India,”Rahul Gandhi said in Lok Sabha.

Gandhi asserted: “Modi ji only talks to suit boot wale (suited booted) bade (big) businessmen. Those who earned money with medium and small businesses, you robbed them. It’s a reality that you cannot change.”

“You go and help bigwigs, but when it comes to poor, you fail to do anything… Farmers beg for waivers. Finance minister keeps saying ‘no’. Petrol prices are decreasing all around the world, except in India,” Gandhi added.

“The PM doesn’t go out… he travels abroad but never leaves his security cordon. He doesn’t speak to small businessmen just to the suit boot people. What’s in the heart of the poor and marginalised doesn’t reach the PM,” Rahul says. “You pickpocketed the poor… those who run small businesses and establishments.”

Referring to the PM’s Jio advertisement, Rahul Gandhi adds, “The PM does things for those who help him. But for the rest of the country and its workforce, the PM doesn’t have a place in his heart.

Targeting the government on GST, Rahul said, “The GST was brought by the Congress party. You opposed it when you were the chief minister of Gujarat. We wanted one GST, with petrol and diesel in it, and the country to have one tax with the least disruption. But the PM’s GST now has five taxes, killing small traders and destroying crores of people.”
