New Delhi, Feb 28 : After India foiled Pakistan’s attempts of targeting military installations, the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force said they were fully prepared and in a heightened state of readiness to respond to any provocation by Pakistan.
Speaking on Balakot Operation during tri-services briefing,Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor said,”We have evidence to show that whatever we wanted to do and targets we wanted to destroy, we have done that. Decision to show the evidence is on senior leadership.Whatever we intended to destroy, we got that result.”
“Happy that our pilot who had fallen across LoC is being released. Once he has been handed, we will decide the future course of action,” Kapoor added.
“Pakistan has targeted our military installations. They have escalated matters. If they provoke us any further, we are prepared for exigencies,” said Major General Surendra Singh Mahal.
Mahal told that Pakistani jets tried to target a Brigade Headquarters, a Battalion Headquarters and logistics installations in Jammu and Kashmir. But their designs were foiled because of the high level of preparedness by the Indian armed forces, he said.
Major General Surendra Singh Mahal: As long as Pakistan continues to harbour terrorists, we will continue to target the terror camps
Kapoor said, “Fairly credible evidence that weapons caused damage intended. It will be premature to comment on the number of casualties.”
There is enough evidence to show that F-16s were used in this mission through their electronic signatures. Parts of AMRAAM, air to air missile which is carried only on the Pakistani F-16s was recovered east of Rajouri within the Indian territory.
He said Indian weapons systems had been put on high alert and mechanized forces had been placed on standby. “We are fully prepared to respond to any provocation.”
