Turkish President Erdogan to visit Azerbaijan to attend Turkic Council meet

Baku, Auh 12 : Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Azerbaijan on October 3 to participate in the seventh meeting of the Turkic Council.

The Turkic Council was establishedin 2009 to coordinate efforts to fight terrorism and cooperation in trade, science and technology, education and mass media.

The council also focus on promoting exchange of relevant legal information and enhancing legal cooperation.
The idea of setting up this cooperative council was first put forward by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev back in 2006.

The member countries are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. The remaining two Turkic states, Uzbekistan has announced its intention to join the council while Hungary is an observer
