Who used to mock Manmohan Singh have pushed the economy to recession: Congress

New Delhi, Nov 30: Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel accused the Modi government of using CBI and ED to attack the Opposition leaders and said that Finance Minister who mocked former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji are now struggling to deal with the economic slowdown.

“Mr Chidambaram’s continued detention is nothing but a witch-hunt of the worst kind. It’s a national shame how institutions are succumbing to this pressure Fact is, ppl who run this government don’t care if economic growth falls to 4.5% or 0.5% ,” Patel said.

India’s GDP growth at constant prices fell to a 26-quarter low of 4.5 pc, India’s nominal rate of GDP growth has slumped to 6.1 pc. At this rate, India’s target of $5 trillion GDP will take 4 years longer than 2023-24-the original 5-year deadline.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media case smell more like a witch hunt under political duress .

“They are least interested in these things, they have only one agenda – silence contrarian voices & the opposition
4.5% ! Some ppl who made a career by mocking Dr Manmohan Singh ji are now struggling to oversee the economy #EconomicSlowdown,” Congress leader said.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Saturday slammed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the Chanakya of Modi government to wake up and address the concerns that are responsible for the poor state of the economy.

“Growth at 4.5% , a six year low , declining for the 6th consecutive quarter and the FM say’s “.have patience “ Dear FM : Hunger has no “patience,”Kapil Sibal tweeted.

Referring to the recent episode when Fadnavis was sworn in at 7: 30 by waking up the Maharashtra Governor at 5:30 am, the renowned lawyer then taunted BJP President Amit Shah who is called the ‘Chanakya’ of BJP for installing Saffron party, Sibal said, ” Chanakya : Instead of waking up the President at 5.47am “ and manufacture governments “ Wake Up “ to address real issues .”
